Cyndy and Steffie have thoughtfully worked the land and its historic buildings into a thriving vineyard, award-winning winery, and craft brewery without erasing its heritage.

Here, heritage lives in the very earth: ancient limestone cliffs, rich soil, and timeworn stone. The iconic cliffside lodge, constructed in 1832, became the heart of Edg-Clif when Andrew Stephen Knapp and his wife Hazel purchased it in the 1930s. By the 1940s, it had grown into one of the Midwest’s premier Hereford cattle ranches, producing champion purebred stock and even extending electrical service to the surrounding area during World War II. Today, the Knapp family’s granddaughters—Cyndy Keesee and Steffie Littlefield along with their husbands—honor that legacy as third-generation stewards. They have thoughtfully transformed the land and its historic buildings into a thriving vineyard, an award-winning winery, and a craft brewery without erasing its roots. Welcome to Edg-Clif Winery near Potosi, Missouri.
