The Queen of Shared Work Spaces.

Updated: 7 days ago

There are too many distractions when you try to run a business from home, or a coffee shop—from chairs scraping across floors and loud conversations at nearby tables to the tempting call of monster cinnamon rolls. What you really need is a stable address, a professional and quiet environment, security, clean restrooms, fast internet, and access to your business resources 24/7. Marketing professional Denelle Smugala, who has been self-employed for over 20 years, understands how challenging it is to juggle a business, family, office responsibilities, and clients. She also knows how important all of these are to your personal success. That’s why, eight years ago, she created the perfect solution: a professional shared work space where small businesses and startups can thrive without long-term leases or the heavy financial burden of setting up a private office. No utilities, trash, or bills to worry about. Just a secure, private office, and affordable place to work. Enter Denelle’s brainchild: WorkSPACE.

Meet marketeer Denelle Smugala and her big idea!

My name is Denelle Smugala. As a marketing professional, I work with hundreds of business owners and startups. Ask any entrepreneur with an in-home office, and they'll tell you that sitting around in your pajamas all day and walking back and forth to the refrigerator gets old very quickly.  Both coffee shops and home offices have too many distractions and limitations to grow a business efficiently.  Trying to do business at a local coffee shop is a drag.  It can be downright embarrassing having to meet clients in a public place, not to mention the sour looks you get from the coffee shop owners.  Our co-working office could be a long-awaited solution to your pain, as well as a way to grow your business.

When WorkSPACE opened its doors in downtown Farmington, I had no idea how important the resource would become to the area.  WorkSPACE is solving the big question that all start-up businesses face, "Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?"  You need to grow your business before you can get an office, and you need an office before you can grow your business.  WorkSPACE solves this dilemma for you by providing office space without a long lease, utilities included, free WIFI… and at 50% to 70% less than any other office space in the region.  WorkSPACE, strategically located on the main drag in downtown Farmington, is full of energy and other start-ups like you.  And, get this!  Open office space starts at only $75 per month…all inclusive in addition to FREE Internet, furnishing, and FREE utilities, your new office will also have access to the lobby/waiting area, conference areas, a photo/video studio, two kitchen areas, outdoor courtyard, lockers and much more.

Today, companies are quickly diverting the need for full-time on-site employees to using virtual employees who work off-site.  In addition to that growing trend, more people are becoming 100% freelance.  From writers to architects to bookkeepers to office assistants to insurance sales to just about anything you can think of, people want to lose the commute and control their schedules. You can expect to see more vital businesses starting up.

From a small business perspective, it allows a company to access higher-quality employees—talented people who really want to work. From an employee/freelancer's perspective, it will enable them to control their destiny, boost their income, and work for bigger companies with bigger budgets. It's a great thing if you live in a small town and have a great talent for something; you can simply market your services to the world.
