Time to Start Wasting Time

Sometimes I feel that life is passing me by, not slowly either, but with the power of a nuclear generator raging out of control. Hours flash past me faster than a chocolate candy melts in a fat man’s pocket. Okay, that may be a little over the top, but it sure seems like it’s racing by pretty fast.

Time is time no matter how you cut it.

When told the reason for daylight saving time an old Indian replied, "Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket.“ Time is time no matter how you cut it.

Time is really your only commodity in life. It’s the one true equalizer because everyone gets the same 24 hours. Twenty-four fleeting hours to live, love and experience life. Time is precious. Yet it seems like we are wasting so much time reading negative dribble online or watching reality TV. Ha! Reality TV...now there’s an oxymoron for you. Can’t you just feel your butt getting wider? Yikes!

The 573 Magazine thinks you should go and fritter your life away by other means. Maybe get outside, experience new places, and meet new people face-to-face. Take a long walk in the park. Lie in the grass and get a few bug bites. Hand wash your car. Go hear some live music. Plant a garden. Attend a local mud festival. Hit a farmer’s market. Have a campfire this evening and invite some friends over to roast marshmallows. Maybe even skinny dip on a moonless night?

Do something. Anything! Waste your time living.

GET OUT THERE!
