Thanksgiving has passed, and Christmas is on the way. Have you noticed a difference in yourself and others around you? The spirit of giving and gratitude is on the move and spreading fast. The 573 area is simply glowing with the compassion and kindness that radiate from the community as we prepare our hearts for the season of sharing.
573 Magazine is thankful for the epically interesting people, cool natural places, amazing and in-depth passions, and small local businesses in our communities.
Charity, faith, and family are all things that come to mind when we open our homes to our friends and relatives, but those aren't the only ways to spread love and help your fellow man this time of year.
Join us in giving back this year by remembering to shop local.
Small local businesses in the 573 often use this time of year to bring beauty and fun to our neighborhoods by putting up festive decorations to raise our spirits and supporting or hosting events, sales, and holiday specials to keep us social. They inspire us to come together as a community and often help brighten our day and lighten our load.
We have been beating the buy local drum before it became a popular thing to say. It's really important! So, we'll say it again...'Tis The Season to BUY LOCAL.
One great, easy way to give back and help support people in your community without overloading your schedule is to RECIPROCATE! You read that right. Just support a business that supported you!
By that, I mean to say, if a particular business sponsors your kid's team, then pop in and say hello and thank you! They just might have something you need. Is there a business you always count on for that donation to that special program you love and support? Drop in and buy a little something. Take the extra couple of minutes to buy cookies from the local baker. Running a small business is demanding, often with little reward or appreciation. Shop your local shops and let them know how grateful you are that they are there doing what they do!
You are going to buy gifts, treats, and other items for this holiday season anyway. Why not from businesses owned by our friends, our families, and our neighbors?
Be sure to check out the small, locally owned businesses that support you throughout the year, and remember to reciprocate.
Be grateful. Eat turkey. Get out there! Shop Local...
