According to the all-knowing Wikipedia, Father’s Day got its start by being celebrated in the Catholic countries of Europe on March 19th as Saint Joseph's Day since as far back as the Middle Ages. In the United States, Father's Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd, and was celebrated on the third Sunday of June for the very first time in 1910. The day is held on various dates across the world, and different regions maintain their own traditions of honoring fatherhood.

Crown Pointe Golf Club

Located on Hunt Road just off of Flat River Road in Farmington, Crown Pointe Golf Club has everything you would need to give Dad a great Father’s Day. We went out to explore the greens, and chat with Dustin Hoehn, the club’s director, about the many amenities of their amazing clubhouse.

Pretty much anything and everything you need, you can find at our pro shop.

Dustin tells us, “The Crown Pointe Golf Course is a championship style 7200 yard 18 hole facility that was originally built in 1993. We’re a semi-private facility. We do provide public play, but the majority of our play is geared more toward stay-and-play, which is kind of our bread and butter package deal. People come and stay in the hotel, play golf, get lunch and just enjoy the golf course and club. We’ve hosted Missouri state high school activities, Association State Golf Championships, United States Golf Association qualifiers and numerous Missouri Golf Association events throughout the years.”

“The 19th Hole is our bar and grill that’s attached to our pro shop on the lower level of Crown Pointe Golf Club. It is open based on golfers, so if it’s raining, it’s not going to be open that day. We serve burgers, hotdogs, brats, chicken wraps, and sandwiches. We have numerous appetizers available and a great selection of Crown Valley beer on draft as well as many spirits bottled or made by Crown Valley. We also have multiple games and activities in the club like Golden Tee, Ski-Ball, Shuffleboard, a billiard table, and an area to practice your putt. It’s a great place to come, relax, have some lunch or take a little break from the heat.”

"Our pro shop is always stocked. We carry a lot of Callaway apparel and accessories. We do have some other styles in there as well, but we mostly sell Callaway golf products as far as gloves, golf balls, drivers, hybrids, and woods. We have a great selection of grips available. We do club repairs and replace shaft extensions and things of that nature. We have tons of accessories in our golf shop. You can find just about anything from gloves, divot tools, logo towels, socks, belts…Pretty much anything and everything you need, you can find at our pro shop.”

With all of the home repairs, remodeling, and pet projects the King does to his castle, you can never go wrong with a nice tool kit or materials for his latest venture. Although, it’s not always easy to know without asking what he has and what he could really use. So why not leave it to the professionals?

Hoods Home Center has everything Dad needs to finish out his latest project. With an abundance of building materials, custom made cabinets, flooring, hardware, and a friendly helpful staff ready to assist however they can (not that Dad would ever need or ask for it…lol) Hoods Home Center was made for Dad.

A Dad in Hoods is like a kid in a candy store…

You can spend the day walking with Dad through the large, fully stocked warehouse, making plans and gathering materials to do a project together. Or simply give him a generous gift card so he can go play when he’s good and ready. Either way, a Dad in Hoods is like a kid in a candy store…full of joy, with a mischievous grin and big plans in motion. What better way to honor Dad than helping him do his Dad thing?
