When Bigger is not Better

Updated: 3 hours ago

Bigger stores aren’t always better for shopping for home appliances. While they may offer bigger inventory, buyers, if they can find someone to assist them, may become confused, leading to rushed or uninformed decisions. Most large retailers do not provide personalized service or staff with in-depth product knowledge. Big stores may push overpriced models, whereas smaller ones often stock quality, budget-friendly options. Smaller, customer-focused stores often deliver a superior experience for appliances where compatibility and reliability matter.

Fisher Furniture offers a wide range of appliances, and EVERYTHING we have purchased from them has perfectly fit our needs, been delivered and installed, and they have even hauled off the old broken appliance.  They take the time to listen, and once they understand what YOU want—which is a lot different than a pushy salesperson whose focus is on what is best for them to sell, either because they are overstocked or the commission is better—only then do they recommend a product.

Fisher has been in business for over 75 years, so the good service doesn't end on the showroom floor.  Oh no, you can have your new appliance delivered in a snap.  AND get this!  Fisher's courteous delivery guys will professionally install your new appliance, relieving you of any installation hassle, and haul off that old appliance for you.  Ya know, the one that's destined to be an anchor?

There's another benefit of buying appliances from Fisher: There are NO added-on fees, installation kits, or games. The price is the price, period, and it's a competitive one, ensuring you get the best value for your money!  AND if anything unexpected happens, Fisher is only a phone call away with their super good and friendly service. Ready to help and stand behind the product they sold you. Hey, at Fisher Furniture, it’s not just about great service or knowing appliances inside out—that’s just the start! They’re total pros when it comes to furniture, too, and they’re super eager to help you pick out the perfect pieces and styles to make your home uniquely yours.

Testimonial

Our family built Meadowbrook Residential Care, an assisted living facility for the elderly in 1996.  Most of our beds and dressers came from Fisher Furniture along with our appliances. Don and Patsy Moses have always been supportive of our facility through the years.  Now their daughter Vicki is taking care of us.  Vicki and her staff go above and beyond for all of our appliance needs.  She makes sure we don't go long, if at all, without a working washer/dryer or refrigerator.  We are a small, family run business and we love the benefits of having Fisher Furniture in our community, another family run business.  -Kellee Dement

My name is Tim Harbison. I live in Ironton with my wife, Megan, and my daughter, Emmy. I am an Assistant Vice President/Regional Manager for Ozarks Federal Savings and Loan and the Iron County Coroner.

My first purchase at Fisher Furniture was a 27” TV more than 23 years ago.  You know the kind, one that nearly takes two people to carry!  I remember Vicki’s dad, Don, knowing everything about the TV I was purchasing and treating me like I was buying everything in the store.  Since then, we have purchased nearly every piece of furniture in our home from there.  Most recently, I purchased a new refrigerator.  I was concerned about how large it was and how they could get it into the house.  Vicki was quick to remind me that the delivery staff knows my home inside and out, and they will make sure it gets in there.  She is absolutely right.  The delivery staff has always been excellent.  They are always careful to make sure there is no damage to your home or new purchase.  I cannot say enough about Fisher Furniture and the entire staff, they have supported this small community for years, provided quality services and products, and are no comparison to the big box stores. I look forward to many more years of supporting Fisher Furniture!  -Tim Harbison

Get Out There! Start that new business. Volunteer for something.  Do something.  Do anything. Take that class. Get that new job. What one person can do, another can do. That sunken sofa will be fine without you.
